6 Makeup Tips for Glasses Wearers

Wearing makeup as a glasses wearer can be challenging. Here are a six tips to help you get your glam on even with glasses.

Tip # 1: Prep your skin

One of the biggest problems we glasses wears face with makeup is having our makeup rub off wherever frames make contact with skin. This can be prevented by using a primer and setting spray to extend our makeup wear time.

PRO TIP: If you have dry skin, use a matte primer only in the areas where your frames make contact with your face.

Tip #2 Consider Color Correcting

Glasses can highlight the discoloration and darkness around our eyes. Unfortunately, sometimes regular concealer is not enough. If you have very dark circles, discoloration or hyper-pigmentation, color correcting before applying foundation and concealer may be your best option.

Pro Tip: Start with light layers of color and gradually build up to desired coverage. (See chart below to choose the corrector color for your specific need.) To prevent creasing, set your concealer with translucent powder and gently tap a small amount of setting spray under your eyes.

Pro Tip: Don't be afraid to have fun with colors that compliment your frames and adjust the thickness of your eyeliner to compliment your frames.

Tip #5: Pump up the Volume

Lashes can really upgrade a look. Unfortunately when it comes to glasses, lashes can get complicated quickly. Long lashes can bump against lenses causing discomfort. And what about smudged mascara on your lenses? No thank you! Enhance your lashes by creating fuller looking lashes by focusing on volume. Look for mascaras that add volume and create the illusion of fuller lashes.

Pro Tip: Look for long lasting formulas such as our Volumizing Tubular mascara, to prevent smudging on your lenses.

Tip #6: Hello Lipstick

If you prefer to make your lips the focal point of your makeup, keep your eye makeup simple. Apply a neutral eye shadow with some eyeliner and mascara and go all out with your lips. Play with bold lip colors and use lip liner to define and enhance your lip shape.

Pro Tip: Take into consideration your frame color when choosing your lip color for an even more impactful statement.
